Colette Colclough, pronounced "coke-lee," is a seasoned, human resources professional, entrepreneur and business owner, currently at the helm of Moving Forward Resources, a dynamic consultancy agency catering to both businesses and individuals. Her entrepreneurial journey also extends to her role as the Founder and CEO of the nonprofit Forward Women’s Leadership Forum. This organization, under her visionary leadership, is dedicated to empowering women to achieve their business, professional, and personal goals.
With an impressive background spanning over 25 years in human resources, Mrs. Colclough has cultivated expertise across various facets of the field, including training, payroll, management, and recruitment. She concluded a distinguished career at Maryland Public Television, where she served as the vice president and head of the human resources department until her retirement in August 2023. Her impactful contributions were not limited to Maryland Public Television; she previously held the position of director of human resources at Maryland’s Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. Earlier in her career, Mrs. Colclough served as a human resources consultant for Odoi Associates, Inc., a prominent building management services provider based in Greenbelt, Maryland.
During her tenure in the media industry, Mrs. Colclough held key roles as the human resources director at WJLA-TV in Arlington, Virginia, for six years and as the manager of human resources at W*USA-TV in Washington, D.C., for eight years. Notably, her contributions at WJLA-TV played a pivotal role in the expansion of the station and the launch of Politico, a distinguished political journalism organization disseminating content through various platforms, including the internet, newspapers, television, and radio.
Mrs. Colclough is a proud alumna of Georgetown University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration. Her commitment to professional excellence is underscored by her attainment of the Senior Certification Professional (SCP) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
In addition to her professional endeavors, Mrs. Colclough is actively involved in community service. She serves as the board chair for the Public Justice Center, demonstrating her dedication to social justice initiatives.
