Ms. Vaughn currently serves as the Director of Community Outreach and Sponsorship at the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.


In her current role, she is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, facilitating, and implementing outreach activities statewide; including working with key industry stakeholders on the federal, state and local level to strengthen existing partnerships, and forge new relationships in order to maximize partnership opportunities through outreach relations and awareness building statewide.


Prior to joining state government, she worked at Fannie Mae where she was responsible for managing the development and implementation of new business strategies which expanded the company’s minority, immigrant and low-to- moderate income book of business, as part of their 1 Million “American Dream” homeownership initiative. Working with such organizations as the National Urban League, National Council of Negro Women, National Hispanic Real Estate and Business Professionals, National Bankers Association, and the National Association of Real Estate Brokers.


Vaughn has over 35-years of experience in public and community relations. She has served on several boards, recipient of the Booker T. McGraw Humanitarian Award, is an alumnus of Leadership Prince George’s and Iylanla Vanzant’s “SWIT” program. Recently, honored by WETATi’s Pitch Competition, and was recognized by Black Business Review, as a person on the move.


She is a native Californian, attending the College of San Mateo and Howard University.
